We redid the 7 miler today and I must say I felt much better today. Managed to even shave off 3 minutes. Faster is faster.
I took out my new water bottle and I my usual half mark snack, a bite of the Meleluca active energy bar. I felt okay as long as I went at a slow and steady pace. If I went below 12 minutes a mile I felt it by tired legs and labored breathing. I went against tired legs more often than not and just walked at those times. I didn’t get out of the house til almost 7 due to the storm.
I am reading up on running and using body fat for fuel instead of having to carb up. This will minimize what I will need to carry for runs up to 1.5 hrs. McMillan Running has a post that has been very handy for my in understanding the basics. Matt over at No Meat Athlete also offers his input. I am still synthesizing the information and may write a post on this.
All in all a great run today.
